6 October 2026 / 16:21

The Moroccan national company has received a sixth Boeing 737-8 from Aviation Capital Group (ACG) since the beginning of the year. This aircraft is the last of six such aircraft included in the ACG order book for Royal Air Maroc in 2026.

Aviation Capital Group (ACG), a US aeronautical asset manager, announced on 5 October the delivery of a Boeing 737-8 to Royal Air Maroc (RAM). This brings to six the number of 737-8 handed over to the Moroccan company by ACG in six months.

It is also the last of the six devices included in the leaser's 2026 RAM order book. Carter A. White, Executive Vice President and Commercial Director of ACG, indicated that these deliveries accompanied the renewal and expansion of the carrier's fleet.

This series of deliveries is part of the Royal Air Maroc fleet development programme. According to information reported by the Moroccan press, the company plans to integrate 10 to 15 aircraft per year, with a fleet to reach 74 aircraft by the end of 2026, then 88 by 2027.

This programme is part of the programme contract signed in 2023 between the company and the Moroccan State, which includes a strengthening of public participation in the capital of RAM in order to accompany its investments by 2037.

The Boeing 737-8 is one of the short-term aircraft integrated into this renewal strategy. The reception of the six aircraft provided by ACG is now complete by 2026.

In the longer term, the AMR development program foresees a fleet of up to 200 aircraft and an increase in its passenger capacity. These objectives must accompany the extension of the company's international network, in the context of the development of Moroccan air services.

For ACG, these deliveries bring the number of aircraft held, managed or engaged by the group to about 500 as at 30 June 2026. These aircraft are operated by nearly 85 airlines in some 50 countries according to the company.

Founded in 1989 and a wholly owned subsidiary of Tokyo Century Corporation, ACG specializes in commercial aircraft leasing, aeronautical asset management and certain financing solutions for airlines.
