On October 1, 2026, CMA CGM Group announced the finalization of the acquisition of FedEx Supply Chain for a business value of $1.4 billion. In particular, the operation expands the contractual logistics activities of its subsidiary CEVA Logistics in North America.
According to the CMA CGM Group, the integration of FedEx Supply Chain brings nearly 10,000 employees and approximately 3.2 million m2 of storage space to CEVA Logistics.
The subsidiary's North American network thus reaches more than 240 sites, including about 150 warehouses from the operation, for a total of about 20,000 people.
CMA CGM also states that this operation must expand the capabilities of CEVA in several sectors, including health, technology, consumer goods and distribution.
The group also reported on the integration of digital and operational capabilities, with the planned deployment of automation and robotics solutions in the North American network.
In parallel with the acquisition, CMA CGM and FedEx entered into several multi-year trade agreements in marine and air freight. According to CMA CGM, the group will become a preferred FedEx marine carrier under a non-exclusive agreement.
The two companies also provide for cooperation on air cargo capacity, particularly on certain routes between Asia and Europe.
For FedEx, this divestment is part of the reorganization of its portfolio of activities. The U.S. company has confirmed the finalisation of the sale for $1.4 billion and says it wants to focus its resources more on its transportation activities.
However, both groups must continue to work together through the new maritime and air agreements.
