DHL Supply Chain has entered into an agreement to acquire Open Market, Colombian logistics and transport operator. The operation must integrate into the DHL network 21 warehouses representing 120,000 m2, 13 cross-docking platforms and a fleet of vehicles. About 4,100 Open Market employees must also join DHL Supply Chain.
The acquisition must expand DHL's capabilities in transport, storage, packaging and temperature controlled logistics.
Open Market is active in the pharmaceutical, medical and personal care supply chains as well as in consumer goods, engineering and manufacturing. For DHL, the integration of these activities must complement the infrastructures and services already present in Colombia.
The network covers warehouses and transhipment platforms designed to organise freight flows between storage and transport. The fleet owned by Open Market also complements DHL Supply Chain's transportation capacity in the country.
This operation comes after the recent extension of the Constellation distribution centre in Cota, near Bogotá, which is dedicated to the management of specialized supply chains.
DHL's 2030 strategy includes this acquisition, particularly in the life sciences and health sectors.
For its part, Open Market indicated that it wanted to concentrate its investments and capabilities on Brazil after the sale of its Colombian activities. However, the agreement announced on 15 September 2026 is not yet finalized: its implementation remains subject to the usual conditions for closing the transaction.
