The SM10 Agro project envisages the production and processing of mango on 500 hectares in the Sedhiou region. The complex must include a processing plant, three processing units and a training centre, with an industrial start announced in March 2027.

On 19 September 2026, the Senegalese international Sadio Mané laid the foundation stone of the SM10 Agro project in Kuntoubou, in its native village of Bambali, in the Sedhiou region. Supported by SM10 Agro, a subsidiary of SM10 Senegal, the agro-industrial park represents an estimated investment of CFAF 11.7 billion. It will be devoted to the production, processing and processing of mango.

The project involves a gradual planting of 500 hectares of Kent mango trees and a processing plant with a capacity of 8,500 tons of mangoes per year. Three units are to process fruit into pulp, dried mango and mango butter.

The complex will also include an irrigation system, agricultural mechanization equipment and a training centre and research and development centre.

According to the proponents, the project must help reduce post-harvest losses and increase local processing of fruit production.

Over 1,000 direct jobs are announced in the long run, with training and integration needs in agricultural and agro-industrial occupations. The project also aims at market opportunities in Senegalese, African, European and Middle Eastern markets.

The industrial campaign of SM10 Agro is scheduled to start in March 2027, after the technical and administrative steps have been completed. The project is part of the development of agricultural and processing activities in the Sedhiou region, where it must combine fruit production, processing and processing on the same site.
