Since the commissioning of Blaise Diagne DSS International Airport, Limak-AIBD-Summa (LAS) has been supporting the operation and development of the airport platform. Evolution of traffic, freight growth, increased connectivity and international distinctions: several indicators reflect the work undertaken by the manager to develop airport capacity and improve passenger experience.
Managing director of Blaise Diagne DSS International Airport, LAS ensures the daily operation of the platform, but also the development of its capabilities and services.
This mission includes quality of reception, security, operational efficiency and continuous infrastructure improvement. Since the opening of the airport, LAS has been working with the authorities, airlines and various players in the ecosystem to support the evolution of air flows in Senegal.
This dynamic is part of a broader vision led by LAS: making Blaise Diagne DSS International Airport a platform capable of meeting the growing needs of air transport, as well as contributing to the country's economic, commercial and tourist exchanges.
The growth of passenger traffic, the development of the destination network and the development of freight are important indicators for measuring this transformation.
2025: nearly 3 million passengers welcomed
Figures recorded in 2025 illustrate the stability of Blaise Diagne DSS International Airport traffic. The platform welcomed 2,939,453 passengers during the year, an increase of 0.46% over 2024.
This development comes at a time when regional air transport has undergone several adjustments, notably with a decrease in movements and a reorganization of the air network Senegal.
For LAS, maintaining this level of traffic is an indicator of the platform's ability to absorb traffic developments while continuing its efforts on the various aspects of the operation.
Beyond the number of passengers, the issue also concerns the airport's ability to offer an experience consistent with international standards, from reception to the different stages of the journey.
The beginning of the year 2026, for its part, brings more favourable signals on several segments. In the first quarter, 735,370 passengers travelled through Blaise Diagne DSS International Airport, an increase of 2.45%.
International traffic increased by 1.64%, while air cargo increased by 17.93%. This latest development is a particularly interesting indicator for a platform which also intends to accompany the development of trade in goods by air.
Wide connectivity to 45 destinations
The evolution of Blaise Diagne DSS International Airport is also measured through its network of destinations, the result of the road development work led by LAS.
Thanks to this active approach, the airport now serves 45 destinations in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and North America. This network, built by LAS in connection with the airlines, allows Dakar to connect to several international markets and to support the travel of passengers, but also the economic exchanges associated with these routes.
For LAS, the development of this connectivity is one of the main areas of work around which the platform is operated.. It is in particular through its development of roads that LAS gradually expands the airport's air network, while maintaining the operational conditions necessary for its operation.
This connectivity is also accompanied by the development of airport logistics capabilities. The 17.93% increase in freight in the first quarter of 2026 is thus complementary to passenger traffic data. It reflects an activity which is not limited to the transport of passengers and which also participates in the trade of goods between Senegal and the markets served by the platform.
Awards that accompany the rise of LAS
As early as 2017, the manager obtained several certifications and recognitions related to airport operations, including those of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), as well as the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) and Airport Health Accreditation (AHA).
Between 2022 and 2024, Blaise Diagne International Airport was also distinguished several times under the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) programme of the International Airport Council (ACI World).
The distinctions obtained include the Best Airport (Best Airport), Most Enjoyable Airport, and Cleanest Airport (Cleanest Airport), as well as, in 2024, the simplest airport route in Africa (Easiest Airport Journey in Africa) and Airport with the most dedicated staff in Africa (Airport with the Most Dedicated Staff in Africa).
